Our Team

Don't let his baby face fool you - there probably isn't a development problem, roadblock, hurdle or obstacle that Gerry hasn't seen and can't solve either with his vast knowledge of the whole building and development process - or simply by strapping on the tool belt he keeps in his vehicle. With his experience supervising the construction of over a thousand homes in his home building days, Gerry probably has helped put roofs over the heads of more Calgarians than almost any other Calgarian.

As a Kiwi-Canadian, Roy is a professional engineer with more than 32 years experience in all aspects of land development. Roy is a master of the intricacies of the municipal planning process. That means that Lamont projects - like the numerous subdivisions he has overseen - move though the approvals process quickly. And that means we save time and money - savings we pass on to our investors and home buyers.

Susan’s unofficial title should be "Office Mom". With over 35 years experience in the land development industry in Calgary, including 14 years at Lamont, Susan’s wealth of knowledge combined with administrative and computer skills keeps things running smoothly. In fact, if she doesn’t know the answer to a question, she always knows who will.

In one of John’s previous lives, he was the developer of Marina Bay in Sylvan Lake AND he's also a chartered accountant. That's a unique and very valuable mix of skills, and it gets especially interesting when his "bean counter" persona wants to question his developer’s vision of what’s best for Ryders Ridge.

With over 30 years of managing land development projects in Edmonton and Calgary with two leading western Canadian development companies, combined with another 7 years of working in construction, engineering consulting and municipal government, Mel brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge to our development operations. Ensuring that developments are done in an efficient manner, on time, and under budget, are the primary guiding principals for Mel. And just for fun, for over 25 years he has been volunteering his spare time with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.

Peter is a land development technologist who, 18 years ago, began by learning the surveying trade, helping build roads and highways throughout west central Alberta. He then made the move to expand his knowledge and education in community design, in both planning and engineering. The ability to read the land and the passion to create, produced an award-winning community in Northwest Calgary. Upon joining Lamont as Project Manager, his mission is to keep projects on schedule and built efficiently, so your homesite can be ready sooner than you expected. He is always ready to assist you with any questions you might have about your favorite Lamont community.

It's not often that you can hire a new employee who already has over 15 years experience with your company. Following a 10+ year stint with one of Calgary's better known land developers, Don successfully ran his own small company providing accounting services and software (of which Lamont was just one of his satisfied customers).

She's officially the company's "youngster". Still, with 9 years of experience in the home building industry, Corinne easily transferred her talents and expertise to the complex land development portfolios that Lamont manages. On top of that, Corinne knows our specialized accounting software program inside out and backwards, and she's hard at work taking extra courses towards earning her CGA.

In her former life as a stay-at-home-mom, Roberta honed her many talents - patience, attention to detail, patience, willingness to learn, and patience for doing the boring, repetitive, essential tasks that are crucial to the smooth running of any office. Her quirky sense of humour and unfailing good nature always make our workdays more enjoyable.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Terry worked in the public service sector for almost 10 years before branching out into real estate sales in 1989. He specialized in new home sales and marketing for the last 13 years, completing several industry-related courses and winning sales achievement awards along the way. Terry brings us his own invaluable localized knowledge plus he knows all the best places to golf, jog and rollerblade in and around the "Chuk".

Small is Beautiful

While other developers may think about how large their company's are, we like to brag about how small ours is. Members of our team have been leaders of Calgary's largest and most established developers. When we created Lamont, we made a calculated decision to run a lean and mean operation. Why is that good for investors, land owners and home buyers? There are no layers of decision makers for you to filter through. When you talk to a member of the Lamont team you are talking to an expert and a decision maker. And with our lower overhead we are able to produce a better return to investors. Small is beautiful.
