Developed subdivisions:
Luxstone Landing, Airdrie
Breathe, refresh live! Virtually all of Luxstone Landing's 84 homes back onto greenspace, and are only steps away from Nose Creek Park. Airdrie is working hard to be a vibrant and viable community in its own right, successfully resisting pressures to be "just a bedroom community" for Calgary. Our 3 Show Home Builders were also investment partners in this project, and are keen to continue this relationship with us in future projects.
Sunterra Ridge Estates, Cochrane, Alberta
Quiet and secluded, with schools and parks within walking distance, Sunterra Ridge is an ideal family community. This 84-lot residential subdivision is set on the benchlands nestled against the northwest point of the Cochrane's Big Hill. Unique design details like attractive downward-directed street lighting that doesn't light up the night sky (so the stars shine brighter!), exposed aggregate concrete sidewalks, maintenance free iron fencing and wooden privacy fencing, enhance the beauty (and investment value) of Sunterra. Enjoy the beauty of living at the gateway to the Rockies while having the amenities of Calgary just minutes away.
Bridlewood Creek, Calgary
Bridlewood Creek, located in SW Calgary, contains 225 single family lots for a wide range of housing types. In 1998, this project was unique in Calgary because it included a fully integrated urban wetland amenity, the first such to be designed and developed within the City's boundaries, with the wetland doing double duty, first as a stormwater retention and management facility and second as a natural park area providing wildlife habitat and related human recreation.
Aspen Creek, Strathmore
Following our success with wetland conservation in the Calgary community of Bridlewood, we worked hard to protect the natural tree stands that make this location exceptional. The original plan for Aspen Creek followed the conventional development practice of removal of all indigenous trees on the site to make building easier. Realizing that existing stands of trees were vital to the beauty of Aspen Creek, Lamont successfully devised a development plan that allowed for the same number of lots as in the original plan, while saving the native tree stands. That's good planning.
Located in the thriving town of Strathmore, Aspen Creek residents enjoy the benefits of the beauty and serenity of a small town, yet, with Calgary just 30 minutes away, every convenience is a short drive away.
Millrise Meadows, Calgary
Lamont's first subdivision, Millrise Meadows, was a very successful 87 lot residential subdivision in southwest Calgary. When the land was acquired in early 1994, it required re-zoning from industrial use to single family residential use, a long and labourious process involving extensive communication with all the stakeholders - community associations, adjacent landowners, city administration and lastly, the ultimate homeowners. This subdivisiton was completed on time and budget and turned over to the city in late 1996.
Developed shopping & acquired commercial projects:
Somerset Cove
Built in 1999 on a small parcel of land (1.85 ac) across from Bridlewood Creek, we built and own this 15,400 sq.ft neighbourhood shopping center, which is fully leased. Tenants are The Learning Experience (a private school), Tom's House of Pizza, a dentist, a veterinary, a hair salon, a tailor/dry cleaning depot, specialty foods/gifts store and a convenience store/gas bar. Because this project was across from the sensitive wetland of Bridlewood Creek, we took great pains to be especially careful in the construction, particularly with regard to the installation of the underground tanks for our gas bar tenant, insisting on state of the art equipment.
Glenmore Circle
Glemore Cirlce, a joint venture with a prominent local developer, is a commercial project developed on lands leased from the City of Calgary. Construction and leasing are complete. Major tenants are Esso, Dairy Queen and Alberta Treasury Branch.
