For years, local developers avoided a 40 acre parcel of land that is now part of the thriving community of Bridlewood. Despite an exceptional location adjacent to world-renowned Spruce Meadows and easy access, this particular area was deemed unsuitable for development because it encompassed a 12 acre slough believed to be fed by underground springs. We found out that it wasn't. But that wasn't a cue for us to bulldoze and fill the slough. Instead, we found a way to regulate its level using water from storm drains. Thanks to our philosophy of respecting land and people, this wetland remained home to the many ducks, frogs, songbirds, dragonflies and countless other species that now share it with the residents of Bridlewood Creek.
