Prairie Springs

Airdrie

Airdrie, one of Alberta’s fastest growing family-friendly communities has every amenity one can imagine, from shopping in big box stores to trendy down town boutiques, to schools and recreation centres, and cultural events.

In 2006, Lamont Land created Prairie Springs. It encompassed a large central park and playground, community-wide pathways and connections to the City of Airdrie’s pathway system. Minutes from shopping and adjacent to the Chinook Winds Regional Park, Prairie Springs was designed to include a natural wetland amenity for residents to enjoy.

With wide and generously sized lots, premier builders and a limited number of homesites, this community made its mark in Airdrie providing numerous families an idyllic and affordable place to live.

Ryders Ridge

Sylvan Lake

Sylvan Lake is without question Alberta’s most popular and well-known lake, and the real estate value at the lake has increased exponentially over time. Lamont Land was both an owner and the project manager of Ryders Ridge at Sylvan Lake, which began in 2006.Created as a new community and only minutes from the lake, the vision was to architecturally preserve the beauty of the land and to blend the tremendous lifestyle offering of the area with the evolving needs of today’s homebuyer.

Lamont looked to the land itself for inspiration and developed a neighborhood in harmony with its natural setting. The result? A community of rare amenities and the best traditions of distinct architecture spanning 150 acres. Built on a respect for the environment at a buyer friendly price point – it has become a community where residents enjoy a spectacular lifestyle and own a legacy that will retain its value for generations to come.

Luxstone Landing

Airdrie

The city of Airdrie is popular with young families – the proximity to Calgary, the commercial and outdoor amenities, schools that children can walk to, and a sense of community found only in smaller centres – are some of the reasons why.

In 2004, Lamont Land created Luxstone Landing – a collection of 84 homes and a 60 unit multi-family site centrally located in Airdrie. With three showhome builder partners invested in the community, Luxstone was a master planned effort that specifically catered to the needs of growing families.

It has become a vibrant community with picturesque streetscapes, lots backing onto green space and family-friendly, quality homes built by a respected builder group. Luxstone Landing provides the residents of Airdrie with one of the best community lifestyle options available still today.

Sunterra Ridge

Cochrane

Sunterra Ridge

Sunterra Ridge, located in northwest Cochrane’s Big Hill benchlands, is a family oriented neighborhood with 84 homesites. Unique design details were taken into consideration when Lamont Land began developing this community in 1999.

The town of Cochrane is steeped in western heritage and tradition, and the people who live there are quietly independent and supportive of their neighbors and community. The vision for Sunterra Ridge was to complement the town’s character and the stunning natural surroundings.

Years later, the community of Sunterra Ridge reflects and preserves the natural beauty and spirit of its special town. Streetlights that direct light downward instead of around are used in the community so that light is focused where it should be and doesn’t interfere with star-gazing – a beloved pastime for many locals.

Maintenance-free iron fencing and wooden privacy fencing creates a sense of openness in the area but preserve privacy for residents. With spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains this community has truly become a a special place for residents to share and enjoy.

Bridlewood Creek

Calgary

bridlewood-past

In 1997, when others said it couldn’t be done, Lamont Land took a different approach to Bridlewood Creek. The area located in South West Calgary was considered by many to be a 12-acre slough. The words “wasteland” and “undevelopable”, were often used to describe what Lamont Land considered to be a worthwhile challenge.

Instead of bringing in heavy machinery and filling in the “problem”, Lamont Land enhanced it. By constructing an ample water supply from storm rains and preserving the area as a natural habitat for birds, frogs, and many other native species – it became a protected natural wetland. The first project of its kind in Calgary – it brought life and awareness to the responsibility that developers have regarding environmental stewardship.

Today in Bridlewood Creek, there are 225 homes nestled around a fully integrated urban wetland amenity. Designed and developed within the City’s boundaries, it acts as both a stormwater retention and management facility, and a natural park area providing wildlife habitat and that residents can appreciate.

Aspen Creek

Calgary

In 1998, following the success and vision for Bridlewood Creek – Lamont introduced the community of Aspen Creek in Strathmore. Instead of removing indigenous trees – normally considered a nuisance when clearing land for development – Lamont used the stands of native Aspens as inspiration for creating a community with a intimate woodland backdrop. The stands of trees were preserved and Aspen Creek was built around them.

Aspen Creek is a unique 240 lot community designed to blend harmoniously with the natural environment. The community’s forested woodland setting, and playgrounds and pathways, act as an inspiring backdrop to character architecture. It retains the charm of older communities with established trees but offers residents the conveniences and comforts of a new community to enrich their lifestyle.

Millrise Meadows

Calgary

It was 1994 and Millrise Meadows was Lamont’s first subdivision. Many of the progressive land development practices that Lamont is well known for were first implemented in this community. The original zoning for this community was for industrial usage, but Lamont Land campaigned passionately for changing the usage to residential. Why? Lamont Land understood that future transportation planning near the community – the light rail transit system – would make Millrise Meadows a convenient place to live for commuting homeowners.

Lamont also understood that the community’s proximity to Fish Creek Park – and its recreational opportunities – made it an ideal location for new homes that provided residents with access to natural amenities they could enjoy. In 1994 this was considered “out-of-the-box thinking”. Today, over 87 families call Millrise Meadows home and enjoy the benefits and a vision pioneered by Lamont Land in the early years.

Commercial Projects

Lamont’s expertise in residential development translates easily into commercial development.

Somerset Cove

Calgary

somerset-cove
A small commercial parcel (15,400 square feet) serving as a neighbourhood shopping centre, across from Lamont’s residential development of Bridlewood Creek. The centre is fully leased; tenants include a private school, a popular pizza restaurant, a dentist, a veterinarian, a tailor/dry cleaner, a specialty food and gift store, and a convenience store with gas bar. The centre’s proximity to the Bridlewood Creek Wetlands required great sensitivity and care in development, which was completed to the highest environmental standards with state-of-the-art equipment.
